Student Council Member Raises Money for Animal Rescue

Ascension Episcopal School
Student Council executive ambassador, Audrey D., raised $650 for Safe Haven Animal Rescue. The Ascension 7th grader comments,It was really hard work achieving this goal, but it was worth it seeing the look on Cleo’s little puppy face!!”
Audrey started her fundraising journey selling snacks and drinks with her friends. This inspired her to continue her fundraising efforts. She then made a poster asking for canned food, leashes, and donations. To her surprise, generous donations began coming in.  “I didn’t want credit, or attention, I just wanted the animals to have enough food and shelter to go on,” says Audrey.

When selecting the recipient of the donation, Audrey had the goal of finding a smaller, more in-need shelter. She says, “God must have been listening, because Safe Haven popped up on my mother’s Facebook page, talking about animals needing surgeries!” She wants to say a special thanks to all who donated and to her mom for helping her to succeed.
