Ascension Episcopal girls reach quaterfinals for first time with playoff win

Going into Monday's Division III girls basketball regional playoff game, Ascension Episcopal coach Alyssa Credeur had one thing on her mind: slowing down St. Mary's Academy senior Tomyree Thompson.
The 5-foot-9 shooting guard and UNO signee has a well-deserved reputation as a prolific scorer, but the Lady Blue Gators kept Thompson in check long enough to secure a 41-29 win, which sends AES into the quarterfinals for the first time in school history.
