ASCENSION EPISCOPAL PARENT PORTAL

Back to School Info 2018-2019

In an effort to help ease back into the new school year, we have gathered all new school year information in one place for our Blue Gator families! Please select your campus and click on the items below.

Several of our paper forms have been converted to electronic versions and will require you to complete them online this year. Please make sure to read and go through every link as some items have changed from last year.

Please pay special attention to the Technology Handbook for students in grades 3 through 12. iPads will not be assigned to students until the Technology Handbook is read and signed. This process takes the place of the iPad Care and Carry Class that has been required in years past.

Handbooks will be updated here before the start of school. Have a wonderful summer with your families!

  • First Week Schedule

    Dear Parents and Students,

While there is still a little time left to enjoy some summer fun, we are looking forward to the start of the 2018-19 school year here at Ascension’s Sugar Mill Pond Campus. We are excited to welcome new faces and see old friends. In the meantime, please take a moment to review the following information, including the attached "Important Dates" document, and contact the appropriate administrator/teacher with any questions.

    Scheduling
Schedules for all students at SMP are now visible on MyBackPack. These are available before Downtown Campus schedules to allow for any adjustments that need to be made. To view full course titles and teachers, click the checkerboard icon at the top left corner of the screen. All questions or schedule change requests for sophomores, juniors, and seniors should be emailed to me at sfournet@ascensionbluegators.org. All questions or schedule change requests for eighth graders and freshmen should be emailed to Ms. Neal-Jones at cneal-jones@ascensionbluegators.org. In order to process schedule needs efficiently and fairly, please submit an email instead of calling the school. It may take a few days for us to process your request. If a phone call or meeting needs to be scheduled, we can make those arrangements. The last day to request a schedule change is Friday, August 17. Please note that we cannot accommodate schedule change requests based on teacher preference or social groupings.

    School Supplies
Regarding general school supplies, students are expected to come to school prepared to learn. This means they should have materials to take notes on and to take notes with, and they should buy supplies that help them stay organized. Whether they choose to buy a notebook for each class or use a binder with dividers is up to them, depending on their comfort and organizational styles. Specific supplies that are required for classes are noted in the lists in the Parent Portal under School Supplies.

    Laptops
All students and parents must read, sign, and submit the attached Technology Handbook before laptops will be issued or approved. SMP students may pick up their leased laptops or check in their personal laptops Thursday, July 26 or Friday, July 27 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the SMP library. Students are encouraged to take care of this prior to the start of school to avoid lines and delays, but they will be able to lease or check in laptops once school starts as well. Students who still wish to sign up for Laptop Lessons may do here: https://bit.ly/2L6CA8o . Please direct any laptop/technology questions to Mrs. Rachel Delcambre at rdelcambre@ascensionbluegators.org.
