ASCENSION EPISCOPAL SCHOOL

2020-9-14 Ascension Episcopal’s AP Scores Exceed State and National Average

Many of our 2019-2020 juniors and seniors at Ascension chose to take AP examinations last spring, in spite of difficult COVID-19 circumstances.

Although exams were modified, Ascension teachers administered 79 exams across 14 subjects. We are proud to share that our average score increased from the prior year in 13 of those 14 subjects.

The percentage of Ascension students receiving scores of 3 or higher (the benchmark that typically earns college credit) exceeded both the state and national average. “At Ascension, we are in pursuit of educational excellence. AP courses and exams represent the most rigorous academic offerings a student can choose in high school, and we are proud of our Blue Gators and their teachers for accomplishing these great results during a global pandemic,” says Head of School, Jeff Plunk.
