2020_12_8 Shocking Everyone, Ascension Episcopal School Girl’s Soccer Team Takes Home the 2020 Copa CupWhile the varsity girl's soccer team of Ascension Episcopal School was waitlisted and did not initially obtain an invitation to the large Copa Acadiana Invitational, they gained entry and won the coveted Copa cup after 3 days of competition.
At Moore Park, Ascension received an early score from Camille Blanchard in the final game against the very talented 5A Baton Rouge High School. Baton Rouge kept fighting and scored in the second half on a deflected shot. Because the game was tied, 1 to 1, they entered overtime. A shootout would determine victory. Goals were scored by Kendalyn Morgan, Anna Katherine Charbonnet, and Camille Blanchard, while Lily Dore, who had a phenomenal tournament display, stopped two Baton Rouge attempts, giving the Blue Gators the victory!
