Preschool Students Create Using Technology

At Ascension’s preschool campus (grades PK3-K), teachers utilize technology to enhance learning and engagement even with our youngest Blue Gators. During their daily Innovation Lab visits, students experiment, design, create, build, and explore with technology adding to the excitement.

Utilizing green screen technology, IL teacher Allyson Womack and assistant Leah Barry, recorded Thanksgiving messages and showed students how movie magic works. Mrs. Womack and Mrs. Barry commented, “Our little Blue Gators were introduced to the green screen process for the first time on the River Ranch Campus. The children really enjoyed learning the process of making a green screen video, and they loved watching their finished product. The green screen allows our students to explore, dream up new ideas, and create by using their imagination and digital skills. We are excited about sharing stories and getting into character all from our very own Innovation Lab classroom!”

These innovative teachers also created an ever changing QR code wall for students to explore important scientific concepts. And the teachers continued the QR fun by creating customized Christmas ornaments. Parents scanned a unique QR code and were able to hear a sweet holiday message from their preschooler that will live on for years to come.
