  • Innovation in Teaching

The development of personalized learning opportunities for students begins with innovative teaching practices.  Flipped classes, alternative assessments, hands-on experiments, and real-world problem solving are just a few examples of how teachers leverage technology to accommodate various learning styles. Professional learning opportunities enable faculty and staff to explore new technology tools, enhance curriculum design, and amplify student engagement.
  • Innovation in Learning

Ascension strives to teach and provide opportunities for students to be good digital citizens and utilize technology in a safe, responsible manner. Students engage in real-world problems by collaborating with others in the classroom and across the world. They communicate with peers, parents, and communities through student newscasts and live streams. Students are inspired, challenged, and prepared for success through experiences fostering creativity, collaboration, and cross-cultural awareness.
  • Innovation in Environment

The three Ascension campuses are designed to offer an educational environment that works best for each student. Rolling desks, interactive TVs, whiteboard tables, and workstations for students are a few examples of our innovative learning spaces. Each of the three campuses has an innovation lab dedicated to enhancing its curriculum. The labs utilize technology and learning tools appropriate for the age of the students. In collaborative, learner-centered spaces, students experience authentic, hands-on learning experiences through a balanced approach to technology.

  • PK and Kindergarten students share a set of classroom iPads in learning centers and small group instruction.
  • Each 1st - 3rd-grade student is issued an iPad which remains in the classroom.
  • Each 4th - 6th grade student is issued an iPad to use both in the classroom and at home.
  • In 7th -12th grade, students lease a Mac laptop from the school.
*Carts of iPads and laptops are available for checkout for academic classes.
