Noah Chauvin Goes Back-to-Back, Wins Second Straight LHSAA Golf Title

Ascension Episcopal School
Ascension Episcopal School’s Noah Chauvin added another chapter to his already impressive young career by capturing his second consecutive individual title at the LHSAA Division III Boys State Golf Championship this week. The defending champion and 2024 record-setter proved once again why he's among Louisiana’s elite high school golfers.

Chauvin, who stunned the field last year with a tournament-record 129 (66-63), entered this year’s championship as the player to beat—and he lived up to the billing. He opened the 2025 tournament with a steady two-under-par 70 on Monday, giving him the solo lead heading into the final day.

Despite a weather-delayed and weather-shortened second round on Tuesday, Chauvin held firm. He birdied two of his first four holes and was even-par through nine when play was halted and ultimately called due to unplayable course conditions at The Wetlands Golf Club in Lafayette.

With the championship shortened to 27 holes, Chauvin’s strong opening round and composed play on Tuesday were enough to secure the individual title once again, further establishing his dominance in Louisiana high school golf.

Noah’s coach, Logan Ray, commented, "I can't say enough positive things about Noah. He embodies what Ascension is all about and has been instrumental in maintaining a winning culture for our golf program. He understands what it takes to be great, and he works extremely hard to improve and reach the goals that he sets for himself. His mental toughness and competitive drive have helped lead us to victory in the last two State Championships and continue the Ascension golf dynasty... And what's just as impressive about Noah is his selflessness and his desire to help the team succeed above all else."

His performance anchored Ascension Episcopal’s run to its seventh straight team championship, continuing the Blue Gators’ remarkable success in Division III golf.

As just a sophomore, Chauvin already boasts two individual state championships, a team dynasty, and a tournament scoring record. With two years of eligibility remaining, Louisiana’s prep golf scene will be watching closely to see what this rising star does next.
