We’d like to give a Blue Gator shout out to middle and upper school students who competed in a math tournament at Catholic High New Iberia earlier this month.

Upper school mathematics teacher Taylor Ducote, middle school mathematics teacher Lauren Daly and 22 Blue Gators ranging from 7th grade to 12th grade spent the day in a series of individual and team tests landing Ascension as a top finisher in several areas including 1st place awards in pre-algebra, calculus, and middle school math. With so many Blue Gators placing in the top 3 of the subject focus, Ascension was awarded the Sweepstakes Award which comes with a traveling trophy. Next year, the trophy will be brought back to the competition and awarded to the school that sweeps the competition. For now, that trophy will live a good, happy life at Ascension Episcopal School.
