Ascension Episcopal Senior Named National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist
Ascension Episcopal School
We are very excited to announce Madeleine Sorrell as a 2023 National Merit Semifinalist!
The National Merit Scholarship Program champions the nation’s most valuable resource— highly motivated, intellectually gifted young people. More than 16,000 of the high scorers, representing less than 1 percent of the nation’s high school graduating seniors, qualify as Semifinalists in each annual National Merit Program. Students complete the PSAT and must receive a qualifying score along with additional program requirements to be named a semi-finalist. As a National Merit Semi-Finalist, Madeleine has the opportunity to advance in the competition for a chance at 7,250 Merit Scholarship® awards.
Madeleine Sorrell exemplifies balanced excellence at Ascension. Not only is she serving as our Academic Prefect, but she is also a talented varsity volleyball player, has a heart for the Lord, and is heavily involved in arts through theatre. This amazing honor and opportunity are well deserved, and her Ascension family couldn’t be more proud!
The Episcopal Church of the Ascension School (Ascension Episcopal School) admits qualified students without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation, or national origin. We are a welcoming community.
