Ascension's Middle School Student Council Named National GOLD Standard for Third Year

Ascension Episcopal School
For the third year in a row, Ascension’s middle school Student Council has been recognized as a National Gold Council of Excellence for the 2022-2023 school year.  The National Student Council states, “Winning the National Gold Council of Excellence Award is a testament to the highest standards of quality that your council consistently demonstrates in its operation and its projects and activities. NatStuCo Gold Councils of Excellence are the models of quality for which other student councils should strive to become."
In addition to basic requirements such as a written constitution, regular meetings, and a democratic election process, the councils must have demonstrated successful sponsorship and participation in activities such as leadership development and service to the school and community.

Student Council advisor Danielle Bacque commented on the council’s growth. “They are building on what has been done in the past and moving forward with new endeavors. They are not just reinventing the wheel. To me, this shows growth as a whole for the greater good of all.  A balance between tried and true “with a new twist” and a continued desire to find new ways to be leaders in their school.”

Congratulations to the following students, and thank you for your outstanding leadership and service at Ascension!
