Ascension Episcopal's desire to compete, play hard has been paying off in win column

The Acadiana Advocate
Well before the season kicked off, Ascension Episcopal head coach Stephen Hearen provided his Blue Gators’ football team with a simple message that he believed would ultimately result in success.

“I just told the kids to show up and compete every week,” Hearen said. “If we show up every week, play hard and just compete, we would be able to play with anyone.”

The Blue Gators have done just what Hearen’s asked, and the result is a 4-2 overall record and 1-0 in District 8-2A.

“One of our greatest attributes is our team chemistry,” Hearen said. “These guys play for each other, and they believe that when they step on the field, they are capable of winning against anybody.”
