Bella Biggerstaff Claims State Title in Dominant Distance Double

Ascension Episcopal School
Junior standout Bella Biggerstaff cemented her legacy as one of the school’s premier athletes at the 1A Track & Field State Championships at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Baton Rouge, capturing first place in the Girls' 3200m and finishing runner-up in the 1600m, scoring a remarkable 18 points for her team.

In the 3200m, Bella powered through the field to take gold with a season-best time of 11:43.52, showcasing her stamina, pacing, and grit in the grueling 8-lap event. Just hours earlier, she delivered another impressive effort in the 1600m, clocking in at 5:18.84 to take 2nd place in a competitive field.

Head Coach Kayla Fauber had high praise for the junior athlete:

“Bella is an amazing athlete and competitor. I can always count on her to put in 110% effort. She’s one of the strongest and hardest-working athletes I have ever met. It is no surprise that she won State, and I do not doubt that she will return and do it again next year.”

Bella’s performance not only led the girls’ team in scoring but also demonstrated her continued rise as one of the top distance runners in the state. With her senior year still ahead, the future is bright for this tenacious competitor.
