Why Ascension: Preparing Students for Life Beyond School

Ascension Episcopal School
At Ascension Episcopal School, education goes beyond academics. We believe the true measure of success isn’t just what students know—but who they become. Through every grade level, Ascension students develop essential life skills: confident communication, independence, leadership, and resilience.

Recently voted #1 Best Private School in Acadiana and consistently ranked as a Top School on Niche, Ascension stands out for nurturing well-rounded, capable young people who are ready to thrive in college and beyond.

Early Foundations of Growth

In our Preschool, curiosity leads the way. Children move throughout the day—exploring outdoor hallways, experimenting in the Innovation Lab, and expressing themselves through PACE (Performing Arts Creative Expression). Learning happens through movement, creativity, and joy.

Confidence in Lower School

In Lower School, confidence begins to bloom. Students rotate through enrichments like music, art, world languages, and technology. Projects such as “Shark Tank” encourage entrepreneurial thinking, while cross-curricular lessons connect creativity and academics. With two recesses a day and strong teacher relationships, students grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

Leadership in Middle School

Middle School at Ascension is where students learn to lead. Through our Ascension-exclusive Thrive Class, they gain skills in etiquette, conversation, and social confidence. The beloved PACE program, a class created and taught exclusively at Ascension, provides students with opportunities to write, direct, and perform their own productions. Leadership councils, clubs, and service roles give every student a voice and a chance to make an impact.

Prepared for the Future

By the time they reach Upper School, students are confident, capable, and ready for the next step. Our Entrepreneurship, Stewardship & Finance (ESF) Program, featuring the nationally recognized INCubatoredu curriculum, teaches students how to build, pitch, and launch real business ventures. Financial literacy opportunities, like the Dave Ramsay course, teach students how to be responsible stewards of their income. Dual Enrollment and AP courses challenge them academically, while our dedicated college counseling program guides every student to the right fit for their goals.

The Ascension Promise

From the first day of preschool to graduation, Ascension’s Mission remains the same: providing educational excellence in a Christian environment. Our graduates are young men and women of wisdom and purpose who stand out for their academic strength, confidence, and character.
