Student Council Collects Donations for Local Food Pantry

Student Council secretary, Lily Sheets, led a campus-wide initiative to collect food donations for a local food pantry, Second Harvest. “I was inspired by people who don’t have enough food. I wanted to help provide meals for families in Lafayette,” says Lily.

With the help of the other student council members, the student leaders collected 136 pounds of food and generated 163 meals. With matching donations, they provided 1,313 meals to those in need in the local community! Lily says, “I didn’t expect the amount we collected. It was much more than I had hoped for!”
