Last year, the Gator Jazz Dance Team led by Samantha Leger made school history at the 2021 DTU National Championship with a 1st place title in Small Varsity Pom division, 2nd place in Small Varsity Jazz, and winning the Pom Battle. With a firm foundation and better knowledge about how the competition is run, Ascension’s Gator Jazz team will compete in this year’s Dance Team Union National Championship in Orlando, FL February 18 - 20 with much more experience.

Coach Samantha Leger says, “This team’s dedication is something special. They knock down every obstacle and exceed every goal they want to accomplish. Regionals were just the first step for them in their journey and it has set the tone of what they want to achieve at Nationals. They are ready to get back into practice to push even harder to accomplish what they have set for themselves during a competition.”
